A healthy body and a healthy mind complement one another. There is mounting evidence linking fitness with mental performance. Studies in recent years have shown that students who stay physically active and enjoy healthy diets tend to handle stress better than those who do not; furthermore, this leads to better academic performance, higher self esteem, and fewer bouts of illness.
With this in mind, The J.L. Bedsole Scholars Program is instituting the Health and Wellness Program for J.L. Bedsole Scholars and Alumni. This plan will include access to informative and helpful websites, daily/weekly tips geared to healthy living and when possible, access to special events and health-related seminars. In all, The J.L. Bedsole Scholars Program will encourage and stress healthier lifestyles for its Scholars and Alumni. There are no added obligations, rather The J.L. Bedsole Scholars Program wishes to help enrich the collegiate life of all its recipients, and fitness is an integral component to wellbeing.
